7 reasons NOT to use VoxEmail
2. People hate HTML e-mails. Some people don't even know that their e-mail client is HTML-capable - they just see pretty pictures and links when they get HTML email. But plain-text users? Boy, do they hate HTML e-mail! Even our creative dude, David Lawrence, hates it, and wishes for the days of plain text. Our goal is make sure that when someone hears something in the audio that motivates them to go back to the e-mail message and read it a little closer, they can act. That means a link in the e-mail message. And that means a very light dusting of HTML. VoxEmail only adds anchor tags around the links in your message (which even plain text e-mail receivers don't mind) and two short [html][pre] tags at the open of the mail to alert AOL and Outlook Express to display URLs as links. Other than that, no other HTML is used. We call it light HTML treatment, and we've found that it is the best combination of the simplicity and elegance of plain text and the necessary functionality of HTML links. But...if we have to, we can re-write your e-mail to include instructions on copying and pasting URLs into browsers if the "no HTML" rule is absolute. But...Reason #3 >>> |
